Description
Presented as part of the Milwaukee Area Project of Marquette University Law School's Lubar Center, this half-day conference will examine the strategies, policies, and practices most effective in reducing crime and improving urban neighborhoods. It will feature a conversation between New York University sociologist Patrick Sharkey, author of the new book, Uneasy Peace: The Great Crime Decline, the Renewal of City Life, and the New War on Violence, and Mike Gousha, Distinguished Fellow in Law and Public Policy at Marquette Law School. Conference panels explore efforts by local organizations to create safe communities, increase investment in neighborhoods, and build a better Milwaukee.
