Description
Reggie Moore, Director, Milwaukee Health Department’s Office of Violence Prevention
As a young man growing up in Milwaukee, Reggie Moore saw firsthand the impact that violence has on the community. Today, as director of the health department’s Office of Violence Prevention, Moore is working hard to make our city a safer place. His office’s “Milwaukee Blueprint for Peace” offers a multifaceted strategy not just to reduce the number of shootings, but to build what he calls a stronger and more resilient community. Moore is also a member of the steering committee for the group known as SWIM—Scaling Wellness in Milwaukee—which is working to address the impact of trauma on the city. We’ll talk with Moore about his work and his vision for Milwaukee during his visit to the Lubar Center.
