Description
Mike will be talking with Katherine Gehl and Austin Ramirez, cofounders of Democracy Found. Frustrated by Washington’s increasingly polarized politics, Gehl, Ramirez, and Democracy Found are pushing for changes to election rules. Party primaries and plurality voting would be replaced by “Final Five Voting,” which would feature open primaries and ranked-choice voting in congressional and senate races. In this virtual event, Gehl and Ramirez will discuss our current political system, their prescription for changing it, and how much popular and political support exists for these changes. Gehl is the author of The Politics Industry: How Political Innovation Can Break Gridlock and Save Our Democracy. She is the founder of the Institute for Political Innovation, and the former CEO of Gehl Foods. Ramirez is the CEO of Husco International. He served as a White House Fellow in the National Economic Council of both the Obama and Trump administrations.
