The Milwaukee Area Project is a new initiative. Through the Marquette Law School Poll, MAP will provide regular surveys of public opinion in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington, and Racine counties. It will also collect and analyze key demographic and economic data as part of an effort to better understand what’s happening in the five-county area and why. This particular conference will hear from Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow, each of whom will offer a vision for the area’s future. Former Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak, current CEO/president of The Minneapolis Foundation, will deliver the day’s keynote address, offering his perspective on the keys to regional success. The Milwaukee Area Project will be an ongoing focus of the Lubar Center, with subsequent conferences and other guests taking up different aspects of the Milwaukee area’s future.
